Our Employee Relations and EVOLVE teams are thrilled to announce some exciting new perks that add to Shift Digital’s dynamic culture! Before we share the amazing news, it’s important to understand the history of our EVOLVE team.
The EVOLVE team was founded in 2015 by a group of Shift employees who were eager to share their knowledge across the company. Fun fact: EVOLVE is also an acronym that stands for Expanding Vision of Leadership via Education. The team initially focused on Professional Development, but over the years has grown to highlight multiple areas, including Community, Diversity & Inclusion, and our newest edition, Health and Wellness.
Professional Development can mean something different to everyone. Our Professional Development team does an amazing job of sharing out on topics that are employee-driven. So far this year, the team has hosted two lunch and learns on “Happiness through Time Management and Effective Communication” and “How to Manager Student Debt”. They also host department info sessions where Shift employees can learn more about promotional opportunities on other teams. We are looking forward to the next topic in April on “Interviewing 101” to rock the internal interview process!
The Diversity and Inclusion team aims to strengthen our employees, our work and our principles by increasing our understanding of one another and the world around us through continued learning. We believe that as we learn more we grow, evolve and then do better. 2022 has been off to a great start with initiatives focusing on Black History Month, Women in Automotive and Generational Diversity next month.
Giving back is what we do at Shift! The Community team is essential in creating a collective and collaborative environment. They create opportunities for employees to participate in a variety of community service activities, virtually and in-person, as well as providing educational resources to employees. Some of the philanthropic organizations that we have collaborated with in Q1 this year are Gleaners Community Food Bank and the PaulieStrong Foundation. The team is looking forward to showing some love to Mother Earth for Earth Day in a few weeks!
The newest EVOLVE pillar is Health & Wellness! Shift has always put an importance on enhancing an employee’s overall wellbeing, both in the workplace and at home. We are excited to have an established team that can help to share various initiatives throughout the year. The team is off to a busy start with hosting a nutrition coach and sharing out resources each week on Wellness Wednesdays.
Now without further ado, we are excited to share our newest Shift perks! Drumroll please.... this year we have released two Community Days and two Wellness Days for all Shift employees to utilize throughout the year. We encourage employees to dedicate their time supporting charities or organizations that are meaningful to them. These volunteer days give more opportunity for employees to dedicate time supporting a charity of their choice. Shift also values an environment that supports and promotes the mental well-being of all employees. We recognize that wellness can mean something different to everyone and most of the time these situations can be unpredictable. These wellness days offer flexible working arrangements to meet family needs or personal obligations outside of PTO.
