Overview:
We are looking for a Program Manager to support one of Shift Digital’s automotive clients managed out of the Laguna Beach, CA office. The Program Manager will be responsible for the OEM Dealer Tools Program, which is a collection of individual programs spanning Chat, Trade, and Vehicle Listings. The Dealer Tools Program is designed to offer the OEM's dealerships with vetted lead generation tools that can be plugged into their website, giving them more opportunities to connect with online shoppers and drive interest and conversion.
The Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of the program, including but not limited to project management, performance reporting, data analysis, dealer adoption, vendor management, issue resolution, identifying and supporting opportunities to improve performance, operations, and more. The Program Manager will maintain the roadmap and project plans, support client’s requirements gathering, ad-hoc reporting requests, new feature/functionality development. Additionally, the Program Manager will serve as a liaison between the client, internal teams within Shift Digital (field consultants, dealer support, development, billing) and external vendors to deliver high value to the client.
This is a full-time position based at our Laguna Beach, CA office. Employees are currently required to be in-office 3-4 days a week. The Program Manager reports to the Sr. Program Manager over this program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Responsible for managing entire program and operations – from strategic planning to growth, to managing the client relationship, developing / managing reporting and program performance, managing vendors, overseeing billing and co-op submissions, supporting program QA as necessary, and more. Expected to run point on projects from beginning to final delivery to client, across all lines of business within program. Expected to identify opportunities for improvement, and guide future program strategy.
- Account Planning: Create and manage plans (quarterly/annually) to evolve and enhance the program, to ensure milestones are hit, key projects and initiatives are getting accomplished, dealer churn is managed, revenue is meeting/exceeding expectations
- Program Growth: Drive program growth (increases in revenue, increases in dealer adoption) through improving value of program, improving/optimizing performance, evolving the program strategy & tactics, pushing certified vendors to improve tool features/functionality, and consulting the client on overall program enhancements.
- Client Relations: Manage client relationships and proactively engage them, while serving as the subject matter expert for dealer website lead generation and conversion tools. Manage scope and client expectations, develop contingency plans with the support of Sr. PM and/or Director.
- Vendor Management: Manage approved vendors to ensure they are meeting program benchmarks, adhering to brand and program standards, servicing in-program dealers as expected, maintaining required integrations and delivering all required data in a timely manner. Vet potential new vendors for suitability in program. Make recommendations for vendors to de-certify should they continuously fail to meet standards.
- Program Awareness and Communication: Communicate all program details, changes and actions required to certified program vendors, client (corporate and field), and internal teams (field consultants, dealer support, etc.). Manage the implementation of program details, changes and actions across various groups.
- Reporting and Analytics: Define, measure and manage program performance through use of analytics and reporting tools and provide client key insights on performance. Leverage program analytics and industry data to guide strategic program recommendations.
- This is a client-facing role which requires a polished and professional demeanor and the ability to lead meetings and present to large teams/groups.
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ yrs. Account Management experience with a proved track record of success
- Must understand and excel in the consulting environment and how to engage clients with a “can do” attitude
- Need a solid understanding of the digital marketing landscape, automotive digital marketing background is preferred by not required
- Detailed & functional expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with an advanced skill set in Microsoft Excel (i.e. creating complex spreadsheets, including use of Pivot Tables and graphs)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are expected. Must be comfortable speaking with/in front of clients, regional representatives, dealers.
- Project management skills: ability to juggle multiple projects, adapt to changing/conflicting priorities, and breakdown strategy into work tasks
- Must be self-motivated, possess strong phone skills and be able to thrive and multi-task in a busy environment
- Must be a proactive self-started with effective time management skills
- Implementation experience with analytics platforms such as a web reporting tool and tag management software is a plus
- Strong understanding of dealer website tools, such as chat or trade, with demonstrated experience is a plus
- Understanding of the digital space, associated analytics, and delivery of technology solutions
- Critical thinker who can problem solve

Some of these factors include, but are not limited to: skillset, location, years of experience, licenses, certifications, and business/organizational needs. The following compensation range is specific to New York City, Colorado, Nevada, California, and Washington residents only. While we do provide an estimated salary range, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top range for their role. A reasonable estimate for this role is: $80,000 - $100,000.
